After using the thermal imaging monitor to detect outside air leakage, the auditor then continues to detect leakage within the home's walls, ceilings, floors, basements and attics.

The cooler the color, the more heat loss from air leakage.

Thermal imaging is also used to detect areas that may be missing insulation or improperly installed insulation.
